Keep an eye out in November for The Old Ebbitt Grille’s Oysterriot. Featuring at least 20 varieties of bivalves, 2-3 craft beers, and for aficionados at least 100 different wines that are compatible with oysters. It is both a wine and oyster festival. Not to be missed if you’re pursuing a PhD in oysters. Read prior years menu/programs on their website. Only similar event to this is in San Francisco, The oyster is my world.
A DC mainstay and institution with a solid oyster experience. When you visit our Nation’s Capitol, do not pass it up.
Complete experience for the oyster lover. Great atmosphere, good service and excellent shucking. 4 shuckers going at once. Selection could be better but still good. I enjoyed the Wellfleet and the Barnstable oysters. Reasonable size and good brine. A great place. Huge in many ways. Reservations are a must. They even serve breakfast.
