Small and creamy. Good flavor, but because they are famous, found them disappointing. They may not travel well as this half dozen were at the Oyster Bar Philadelphia–but I seem to remember them a number of years ago as very good to excellent in Southern California. (Dec 2021)
Great flavor
I’m middle of the road for these guys. Had them for thanksgiving this year. With all the hype about them i don’t know exactly what i was expecting, but this is what i got from them. While the size is just smaller than an average, the taste was very briny to me. meat was plump but not really a good chew and enjoy plump. The aftertaste of these on the half shell was.. best word, kind of metallic and hung around for some time. Half shell, not real impressed, now steamed, this is where they showed me something! The metallic aftertaste was gone steaming firmed them up a but and gotta say they were nice an sweet. After steaming these little guys though, they were really lil.
Decent oyster. Perfectly bite sized, slightly creamy, light flavour. Great with a dollop of hot sauce!
Plump, roundish, lighter in color, bright delicious flavor. Medium size.
Absolutely outstanding!! MMMMMM…….So unique- picture perfect.
Small but tasty. A good oyster to start your newbie friends on.
Plump, delicate flavor, creamy, lightly briny
Easy to eat! Soft and bodied.
Sweet and meaty Oyster!
The perfect level of sweetness with an amazing cucumber finish
Kusshi, more briny than Kumamoto with sweet hint of oceanic tone.
Outstanding, meaty and clean.
What a lovely oyster! Great brine, especially for a Pacific oyster. Small size, but very full meat with a nice, sweet cucumber finish.
