Aransas Bay, Texas 🌎 See Oyster Map
Oysters raised in off-bottom cages by Bill and Amelia Strieber in Aransas Bay. Unusual for the Texas coast, the area has a hard sand bottom at the edge of a pristine grass flat. It receives highly oxygenated water and a significant nutrient load from the grass flat on both the incoming and outgoing tides, resulting in rapid growth and a hearty marine brine with a consistent salinity averaging 27 ppt. Firm, meaty, pretty much everything you want in an oyster. The clean, beautiful shells tell you just how well these have been cared for!
